The Nation's First 'Hydrogen Mobility+ Show' D-11, How Will It Open Overcoming COVID-19?
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] The 1st 'Hydrogen Mobility+ Show,' which was postponed once due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis, will open on the 1st of next month.
The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee announced on the 20th that the '2020 Hydrogen Mobility+ Show' will be held from July 1 to 3 at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
This is the first mobility exhibition related to hydrogen held in Korea. The exhibition is hosted by the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee and co-organized by the committee, KOTRA, and KINTEX. It is supported by the National Assembly Hydrogen Economy Forum, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show, the world's first and Korea's largest hydrogen mobility exhibition, is designed as a venue where the overall status of the hydrogen industry ecosystem?from hydrogen production, storage, and transportation to mobility?can be viewed at a glance. It provides new business opportunities for participating companies.
Despite being the first event, 92 organizations from 12 countries (62 companies and 20 government agencies and institutions) will participate, showcasing various hydrogen mobility, charging infrastructure, and hydrogen energy-related products.
Domestic companies participating include Hyundai Motor Company, Mando, Kolon Industries, Hyosung Heavy Industries, Beomhan Industry, Gaoncell, Doosan Mobility Innovation, Doosan PureCell, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Gas Technology Corporation, and East-West Power. Global companies exhibiting include Air Liquide, Air Products, Nel, and Bitkovice Cylinders.

In particular, the International Zone, with participation from embassies of countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, and Australia, will operate as a space to introduce their hydrogen industries to Korea and seek international cooperation.
Side events for international forums, seminars, and various demonstrations are also prepared. On July 2, an international forum consisting of three sessions will be held. Speakers include officials from the Korean and Dutch governments, Canadian Hydrogenics, French Air Liquide, Hyundai Motor Company, Doosan Mobility Innovation, and executives from overseas hydrogen-related organizations in the United States and Canada. They will share the current status and outlook of the domestic and international hydrogen industries, visions and strategies for hydrogen mobility, and the future of hydrogen infrastructure and materials.
Many companies, including Hyundai Motor's booth, plan to attract visitors' attention by exhibiting future mobility such as hydrogen cars, hydrogen trucks, hydrogen drones, and hydrogen bicycles. Visitors can also see demonstrations of hydrogen excavators and hydrogen forklifts used in industrial sites within the exhibition hall, and experience the hydrogen sharing economy in real life through the Nexo sharing service provided by JICA. Each company is also given time to promote new technologies. Additionally, to promote trade transactions, a 'Business Consultation Meeting' will be operated during the exhibition period to arrange one-on-one consultations between domestic and international participating companies and invited overseas buyers.

The government is also supporting the development of the domestic hydrogen industry. On the opening day, the 1st Hydrogen Economy Committee, a government-wide hydrogen economy control tower involving government and private members, will be held.
This Hydrogen Mobility+ Show will strictly adhere to the government's 'distancing in daily life' detailed guidelines for group quarantine due to COVID-19 to ensure a 'safe exhibition.' KINTEX will establish a countermeasure headquarters as an infection control tower to operate responsibly, with medical personnel stationed to manage exhibition staff and visitors.
Separate entrances and exits for the exhibition hall will be operated, and entry will be based on a pre-registration system that verifies identity. All entrants must complete a health questionnaire and follow a four-step procedure to enter the exhibition hall. Wearing masks and vinyl gloves will be mandatory for exhibition staff and visitors, and the viewing route will be guided as one-way traffic to secure safe distances. In addition, air conditioning facilities will be operated every hour to ventilate the interior of the exhibition hall, and major facilities inside and outside the exhibition hall will be disinfected once or twice daily, operating a meticulous quarantine system.

An official from the organizing committee said, "Although the event faced difficulties such as being postponed once due to the spread of COVID-19, it also gave us time to devote to exhibition preparations. This event will be held as a comprehensive industrial exhibition that allows a simultaneous overview of the current global hydrogen industry ecosystem?from fuel cells, charging infrastructure, and transportation platforms to hydrogen trucks and hydrogen drones?and will also serve as a practical marketing channel for networking and creating business opportunities among companies."
