[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Haman County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 18th that it is promoting subscription to flood and windstorm insurance to enable residents to cope with natural disasters caused by such events on their own.
This insurance is a policy supported by the national and local governments, covering 52.5% to 92% of the premium, to compensate for property damage caused by natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, heavy rain, tidal waves, strong winds, windstorms, heavy snow, and earthquakes. The coverage includes houses including movable property, greenhouses including vinyl greenhouses, commercial buildings, and factories.
Subscribers can receive compensation for 70% to 90% of the damage caused by flood and windstorm disasters, which is more practical for restoration than disaster relief funds provided to non-subscribers. In particular, small business owners can insure facilities such as factories, commercial buildings, building accessories, and attachments, and receive 59% to 92% premium support from the national and local governments.
Those wishing to subscribe to flood and windstorm insurance can inquire in detail and subscribe through the county’s Safety General Division’s Recovery Support team, the general affairs department of their local eup/myeon office, or insurance companies.
