Gwangju Seo-gu Selected for 'Social Enterprise Regional Specialization Project' Competition
Securing 26 Million Won in Project Funding
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 18th that it has secured a project fund of 26 million KRW after being selected for the '2020 Social Enterprise Regional Specialization Project' contest conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Gwangju City.
The 'Social Enterprise Regional Specialization Project' is a Ministry of Employment and Labor initiative aimed at supporting awareness enhancement and market development to develop and nurture social enterprise models that reflect regional characteristics.
In this contest, Seo-gu was selected for a total of four projects: 'Discovering Collaborative Models of Social Economy Enterprises,' 'Promoting the Spread of Social Value of Social Economy Enterprises,' 'Measuring and Consulting Social Value Indicators of Social Enterprises,' and 'Supporting Participation in Large Corporations and Public Institutions' Contest Projects.'
Seo-gu plans to foster sound social economy enterprises through various projects reflecting the regional characteristics of Seo-gu in line with the government's social economy revitalization policy.
A Seo-gu official said, "We will strive to support securing market channels for social enterprises struggling due to COVID-19 and to strengthen the competitiveness and self-sustainability of enterprises."
