Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Appoints Kim Seung-seok as Auditor: "Strict Action Against Passive Administration and Eradication of Harassment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service announced on the 18th that the newly appointed auditor, Kim Seung-seok, began his duties on the 15th.
Auditor Kim graduated from the Department of Economics at Korea University and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in economics from Seoul National University Graduate School.
From September 1986 to June of this year, he served as a professor in the Department of Economics at Ulsan University, holding positions such as Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Dean of the Graduate School of Policy, and Director of the Central Library.
He has also served as the representative of Ulsan Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice, co-representative of the Ulsan Citizens' Solidarity, standing member of the Advisory Council on Peaceful Unification, and chairman of the Ulsan Peaceful Unification Forum Research Committee.
Auditor Kim stated, "I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on an important role during a nationally difficult time due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19)," and expressed his aspiration, "to conduct audits faithful to the basics based on law and principles, and to perform fair audits."
He added, "I will foster a proactive public service culture so that employees can work with conviction, and strictly punish passive administration that neglects or delays duties that should naturally be performed."
