Goheung-gun Selected as National Excellent Institution for Food Safety Management by MFDS
High Evaluation for Achieving Collection Targets and Input Rates of Specially Managed Food Products
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 17th, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it was honored to be selected as an excellent institution in the food safety management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety targeting basic local governments nationwide.
With this award, it will receive a commendation as an excellent institution given to only 11 cities, counties, and districts nationwide, along with a prize of 2 million won.
The county was previously selected as an excellent institution in the comprehensive evaluation of hygiene management projects among 22 cities and counties hosted by Jeollanam-do in 2019.
In this evaluation, it was highly rated for the utilization rate of on-site reporting equipment, the activity index of consumer food hygiene monitors, the achievement rate of collection targets and input rates for specially managed foods, proving its leading role in the field of food safety management.
To revitalize the local commercial district, which has been stagnant due to the spread of COVID-19, the county is promoting a campaign to close government office cafeterias one day a week.
Additionally, to ensure that tourists visiting Goheung can stay with peace of mind, the county supports local dining establishments with hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and hygiene masks, making thorough efforts to block the spread of COVID-19.
