According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 17th, as of 9:30 a.m., a rain cloud band formed in the frontal convergence zone of a low-pressure system moving northeast near Shanghai, China, is heading toward South Korea at a speed of about 50 km per hour.
Due to the influence of this rain cloud, raindrops are falling in the southern West Sea island area (Gageodo).
The main rainfall is expected to begin from 6 p.m. and continue until late afternoon on the 18th.
In particular, strong rain exceeding 30mm per hour is expected in areas centered on the southern coast of Jeonnam (Wando, Goheung, Yeosu).
The expected precipitation amounts are 30 to 80mm in the southern coastal areas of Jeonnam, and 10 to 50mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam excluding the southern coast.
