Busan City Recruiting Universities to Participate in Employment Connection Program Focusing on Theory and Practice
This Year, 10 Courses for 200 Participants, Applications Open Until the 26th... Selection Announcement in Early July
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City is conducting a project in collaboration with local universities to nurture regional talent equipped with both theoretical and practical skills and connect them to employment.
The city announced on the 17th that it is recruiting participating universities for the ‘2020 Customized Employment Support Project by University Department’ until the 26th.
The customized employment support project by university department is a program that provides practical job training to graduates or prospective graduates of universities in the Busan area.
It offers customized job training by occupation beyond major subjects to enhance the job skills of local university graduates seeking employment and supports them in securing quality jobs after completion.
This project has been fully funded and promoted by Busan City since 2015. Up to last year, 1,157 people participated, 1,045 completed the program, and 570 succeeded in finding employment.
This year, about 200 participants across 10 department courses will be recruited, prioritizing occupations related to Busan’s seven strategic industries and future industries. To ensure immediate employment after completion, the selection in early July will review employment prospects in related industries, obtainable certifications, and employment placement plans for graduates.
Selected departments will receive training fees of 6,500 KRW per hour, and training participants will be paid a training allowance of up to 200,000 KRW monthly based on attendance rates. Participants must be prospective graduates or unemployed graduates within one year from participating universities, selected internally by each university.
