Emart and Traders Launch 4th 'E-Word' Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart will start the 4th round of the ‘eward’ event from the 19th. The target products include cordless vacuum cleaners, skincare devices, clothing care appliances, and air conditioners.
Starting from the 19th, at 129 nationwide Emart stores with electronics sections (including Electromart) and 7 Electromart stores located outside Emart, the first 1,500 customers will have the opportunity to purchase four popular LG home appliances?‘LG CordZero A9S’, ‘LG Pra.L 4-piece All-in-One Package’, ‘LG Styler’, and ‘LG 2in1 Air Conditioner’?at discounted prices until stocks last.
This ‘eward’ event is also available at Traders. During the same period, 480 customers at all Traders stores (except Kintex branch) can participate in the ‘eward’ event for the same LG home appliances as at Emart.
For the 4th round of ‘eward’, Emart partnered with LG Electronics and Samsung Card, unlike previous rounds. In addition to the popular cordless vacuum cleaners and clothing care appliances from the 1st to 3rd rounds, new products reflecting the ‘self-care’ trend and seasonal demand, such as skincare devices and air conditioners, have been newly prepared.
Also, customers who participated in the 1st to 3rd rounds conducted with Hyundai Card can participate again and receive benefits, as the 4th round is conducted with Samsung Card. Customers need to shop with a monthly contract amount and pay in-store using Samsung Card.
To participate in ‘eward’, customers visit Emart or Traders stores, fill out a participation application, and purchase the target home appliances through Samsung Card with 25-month or 35-month interest-free installments.
Afterward, when the customer reaches the designated shopping amount at Emart or Traders stores (350,000 to 450,000 KRW per product), the monthly installment for the home appliance will be automatically deducted from the next month’s card payment.
The installment for the first month of subscription is supported unconditionally regardless of achieving the shopping contract, and the shopping amount accumulation period is from the 1st to the end of each month. Since the events are held separately at Emart and Traders, performance is also calculated separately, and customers can participate in one contract each at Emart and Traders.
Meanwhile, Emart’s ‘eward’ event plays a role in attracting customers and activating linked sales. Not only have new customers and previously inactive customers been attracted through ‘eward’, but the purchase amount and frequency of participating customers have also significantly increased.
According to an analysis of customers who participated in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of ‘eward’ conducted by Emart this year, the proportion of new customers among ‘eward’ participants reached as high as 30%. The monthly purchase amount of ‘eward’ participants increased by more than 50% compared to before participation, and the monthly purchase frequency grew by 20%.

Choi Hoonhak, Emart’s marketing manager, said, “As a result of conducting the ‘eward’ event three times, new customers were attracted and the shopping amount of participating customers greatly increased. Therefore, for this 4th round, we have newly prepared popular home appliances that were not seen in previous ‘eward’ events.”
