Recruitment of Resident Companies for Gwanak-gu-Seoul National University Campus Town
Targeting prospective entrepreneurs or startups within 7 years until July 10... Full-scale promotion of the 'Campus Town Comprehensive Project' aimed at revitalizing the local economy through startup support
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee), together with Seoul National University, is recruiting tenant companies for the Campus Town until July 10.
Gwanak-gu and Seoul National University were selected for the Seoul City Campus Town comprehensive project last December, accelerating efforts to revitalize the local economy by creating a startup valley where the university and the community coexist.
The two institutions have established key centers in the Daehak-dong and Nakseongdae-dong areas as major hubs, planning to operate various startup programs and community cooperation programs utilizing Seoul National University's manpower, technology, and startup infrastructure centered around these hubs.
The target participants for this "Campus Town Tenant Company Recruitment Competition" are prospective entrepreneurs or startups within 7 years of establishment. Startups in core fields of the 4th Industrial Revolution such as AI, big data, robotics, fintech, blockchain, or those addressing local community issues like POST-COVID will be given preference in selection.
Gwanak-gu and Seoul National University will select about 15 companies through document and presentation evaluations based on criteria such as ▲startup item ▲growth potential ▲feasibility ▲company capability. Selected companies will move into the Daehak-dong Hub Center II (134 Sillim-ro) and Nakseongdae-dong Hub Center II (535 Bongcheon-ro) from August this year.
Tenant companies can use office space free of charge without worrying about rent or management fees, and outstanding companies will also receive commercialization support funds (prizes).
Additionally, tenant companies will receive various support including ▲education, consulting, and R&D support hosted by Seoul National University professors and researchers ▲strategic consulting related to intellectual property ▲professional consulting in law, accounting, and taxation ▲regular IR and demo days ▲investment attraction opportunities.
Companies wishing to apply can download the business plan form from the Seoul National University website (Notice → General Notice board), complete it, and submit it via Google Form.
Meanwhile, Gwanak-gu plans to open Daehak-dong Hub Center I (117 Sillim-ro) in October this year, and Seoul National University plans to establish Nakseongdae-dong Hub Center I by 2021, preparing a total of four startup hub centers to provide residency benefits and various startup supports to about 70 companies.
