View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it will hold a partial solar eclipse observation event at the Changwon Science Experience Center on Hajitnal.
The event will be held on the 21st, and a partial solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon where the moon covers part of the sun. On that day, it is expected to start at 3:53 PM, reach its maximum coverage of about 55% of the sun around 5:02 PM, and end at 6:04 PM.
This partial solar eclipse is the only eclipse visible in Korea this year, and the next eclipse observable will be on June 1, 2030. In addition to the observation event, a special lecture on the sun and eclipses by an astronomy expert will be held in the planetarium, along with a hands-on experience of making solar glasses to observe the partial eclipse.
