[Post-Corona Strategy] Smooth Decaffeinated Cup Coffee with Rich Aroma
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Maeil Dairies has launched the industry's first caffeine-removed cup coffee, 'Barista Rules Decaffeinated Latte.'
Maeil Dairies' 'Barista Rules Decaffeinated Latte' breaks the stereotype that decaffeinated coffee products lack taste and aroma, featuring a rich coffee scent and a well-balanced smooth milk flavor, characterized by a deep coffee taste and clean finish. To achieve this, Colombian and Brazilian coffee beans are blended, and caffeine is removed using the patented Swiss Water Process method in water. Additionally, instead of espresso extraction, a flannel drip method using cotton fabric is adopted to maximize cleanliness.
The Swiss Water Process method uses osmosis to remove only caffeine from the coffee beans without using chemical solvents, preserving the original flavor of the coffee for a long time. The caffeine content of Barista Rules Decaffeinated Latte is about 5 mg or less per cup (325 ml), which is approximately 1.25% of the daily recommended intake by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
