Foreigners Turn to Net Buying... KOSPI Reclaims 2100 Level, KOSDAQ Up 4%
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Foreign investors, who had maintained a net selling trend for six consecutive trading days, have turned to buying.
As of 10:04 a.m. on the 16th, foreign investors made net purchases worth 46.8 billion KRW in the KOSPI market. Although they continued selling at the beginning of the trading day, maintaining the net selling trend for six consecutive days, their position changed during the session.
Individual investors also made net purchases worth 57.2 billion KRW, lifting the index together with foreign investors. Institutions sold off 99.3 billion KRW.
Thanks to buying by individuals and foreign investors, the KOSPI rose to 2107.16, showing a 3.78% increase.
In particular, foreign investors are solely driving the index up in the KOSDAQ market. At this time, foreign investors purchased 156.5 billion KRW worth of stocks in the KOSDAQ market, while individuals and institutions sold 157.9 billion KRW and 0.6 billion KRW, respectively.
