National Intangible Heritage Center Hosts Humanities Lecture at Chaekmaru
The National Intangible Heritage Center will hold the cultural program "Chaekmaru Humanities Lecture" every Thursday from the 18th of this month until the 23rd of next month. This experiential program has been conducted since 2018 to provide local residents with opportunities to enjoy culture. Writer Kim Jong-won will give an online lecture on the 18th titled "Eight Questions for Humanities Growth." The remaining five programs will be held in the small performance hall. Novelist Kim Jong-kwang (on the 25th) will find lessons in traditional fairy tales, architect Hwang Doo-jin (on July 2) will introduce transformations of Hanok spaces, writer Shin Kyung-ah (on July 9) will share stories about music from Africa and the Balkans, cultural columnist Myung Wook (on July 16) will tell fascinating stories about traditional liquor, and Kim Pil-soo, president of the Korea Chopsticks Association (on July 23), will explain the elegance embodied in chopsticks. Participation is limited to thirty people, but the lectures can also be viewed on the same day at 7 p.m. on YouTube via the "National Intangible Heritage Center Digital Archive Channel."
