She pointed out that the United Future Party's stance is "because of great fear of North Korea, they insist on fighting against North Korea."
On the morning of the 15th, Yang posted on her Facebook titled "20th Anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, We Must Continue Dialogue Today," stating, "President Kim Dae-jung said before the summit, 'We cannot resolve the grievances accumulated over half a century all at once, but starting is half the battle,'" adding, "The democratic government has spent 20 years fulfilling that half. It has reduced the possibility of war and made peace a part of everyday life."
She continued, "The June 15 Joint Declaration was a confidence that we had achieved a complete victory in the system confrontation and that we could determine our own destiny," emphasizing, "That is the true legacy the June 15 Joint Declaration left us."
Regarding the recently strained inter-Korean relations, Yang said, "Ending the long history of division will inevitably involve several ups and downs," and added, "Because we have the confidence that we will not lose, we will take the difficult path. Even if it is difficult now, we will continue dialogue."

She further criticized, "Fighting is easy, but dialogue is difficult. The United Future Party insists on fighting North Korea because it is easier," and said, "Their fear of North Korea is great, and their confidence in themselves is lacking, so neither diplomacy nor security is conducted with confidence. This is why they choose the easy path of confrontation rather than dialogue."
