Wi-Fi Installed in Eunpyeong-gu Parks, Bus Stops, and Traditional Markets
Seoul Smart Seoul Network (S-Net) Phase 1 Project Sites Selected, Securing 3.3 Billion KRW in City Funds...Advancing Communication Infrastructure and Bridging Information Gaps Between Layers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) is applying and installing Wi-Fi 6, the latest technology that is faster and safer than existing public Wi-Fi, in public living areas used by residents (parks, bus stops, traditional markets, Bulgwangcheon Stream, main streets, etc.).
This project is part of Seoul City's "Smart Seoul Network (S-Net)" initiative. Eunpyeong-gu, along with four other autonomous districts, was selected as the first target area. Eunpyeong-gu secured 3.3 billion KRW in city funds and will build a 24 km self-communication network starting in June, installing 350 wireless transceivers in a capillary-like manner.
Additionally, as smartphones have become essential in our lives and the presence of data and Wi-Fi has become important, this project aims to reduce users' communication costs and proactively respond to the expected explosive increase in demand for communication infrastructure in the future.
