Successful Candidates from Remote Exams Also Appear
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 15th that it will announce the successful candidates of the 1st 2020 academic year elementary, middle, and high school graduation equivalency examination through the Office of Education website at 10 a.m. on the 16th.
A total of 4,939 candidates took the 1st equivalency exam, and 4,138 passed, recording a pass rate of 83.78%.
Kim Geum-ja, aged 83, was the oldest successful candidate, and Yu Chan-hee, born in 2008, was the youngest successful candidate. There were also cases of passing the exam through the "Visiting Equivalency Exam" service. Bae Hyun-woo (36), who has a muscular disability, and Shim Mo (33), who has a brain lesion disability, passed the equivalency exam. Bae Hyun-woo, who works as the deputy director of the Let's Go Together Center for Independent Living for the Disabled, applied for a home test because it was difficult to travel to the exam site and his immunity was weak.

Certificates of passing, score certificates, and subject passing certificates can be issued after the announcement of successful candidates by logging in with a personal digital certificate on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Home Edu Civil Service. This year, certificates will not be issued face-to-face. Instead, certificates will be mailed only to applicants.
