Seongbuk-gu, Recruiting Complexes for Open Apartment Pilot Project Participation
Space Opening for Community Revitalization, Simultaneous Participation in Community Activities and Academy...Mandatory External Opening of Community Spaces and Revitalization Programs for Over 2 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is recruiting complexes to participate in the '2020 Open Apartment Pilot Project' until the 26th to create open apartments that coexist and communicate.
The Open Apartment Pilot Project consists of a total of three projects, where spaces created with the support of the district are opened to the public, and community activity programs are operated using the created spaces.
In addition, an academy must be established to foster the necessity of community activities and train leaders.
As a condition for participation, any multi-family housing complex with 30 households or more within Seongbuk-gu can apply, and participation in the contest is possible after the resolution of the residents' representative meeting.
Also, complexes selected for the 2020 Seongbuk-gu community revitalization project or management support project can apply simultaneously.
Apartments selected for the pilot project can receive up to 10 million KRW each for space creation and community activities, and must bear at least 10% of the total project cost for each project.
Furthermore, selected complexes are obligated to keep the community activity spaces open to the public for more than two years and maintain the operation of community revitalization programs. If the project is abandoned midway, restrictions such as disqualification from next year's project participation and subsidy recovery will apply.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, explained, "While apartment residency rates are increasing, community activities are gradually decreasing due to burdens such as spatial and economic costs and a lack of community leaders willing to step forward. We are promoting the Open Apartment Pilot Project to draw out the human and spatial resources inherent in multi-family housing, fostering a culture of living together by communicating and sharing with each other."
The district plans to select two complexes this year for the pilot project to create open apartments, and will gradually expand the project by reflecting the results of the pilot project.
Seongbuk-gu also announced that it will conduct an additional recruitment for community revitalization projects for complexes that could not participate in the community revitalization project.
