On the 15th, LG Electronics announced that as major overseas home appliance stores, which had suspended operations due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), resumed business, it has expanded its new products centered on the 'LG OLED Gallery TV.'
LG Electronics newly installed dedicated display stands in stores to introduce the 'Gallery Design' applied to new products. The company explained that the Gallery Design is an innovation in form factor (the specific device shape) that considers the consumer's TV installation space, beyond differentiating TV design and functions. This design was applied to the 77, 65, and 55GX models and the 77ZX model among this year's new LG OLED TVs.
The LG OLED Gallery TV features a thickness of less than 20 mm (millimeters) for the 65-inch model and integrates the screen, drive unit, speakers, and wall-mount components without the need for external devices. Unlike conventional wall-mounted installations, the entire TV adheres completely to the wall, offering advantages such as immersive viewing and excellent space utilization.
Positive reviews from overseas specialized media for the LG OLED Gallery TV have continued.
The UK's technology media 'AV Forum' described it as "a fantastic TV that looks excellent whether it is on or off," and IT media 'Pocket-lint' also evaluated it as "not only having excellent picture quality but also the most suitable product for wall-mounted installation among TVs made so far." The UK lifestyle magazine 'GQ' praised it as "a TV that interior designers dream of."
According to market research firm Omdia, the global TV market in the second half of the year is expected to recover rapidly compared to the first half, when demand sharply declined due to the impact of COVID-19. LG Electronics plans to actively target premium TV demand by prominently featuring new products.
