Muheop Hosts 'Startup Branch Challenge Series' Demo Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held the 'Startup Branch Challenge Series' for startups participating in the overseas expansion voucher program on the 15th.
This event is the first startup investment briefing (IR) hosted by KITA inviting the investment industry. Starting from the 15th, every Monday for five weeks, it will showcase startups in five sectors: ▲ Medical, Bio, Healthcare ▲ Consumer Goods, Lifestyle, Beauty ▲ Platform, Service, Solution ▲ Components, Materials, Internet of Things (IoT), Hardware ▲ Culture/Content/Others.
Pitch decks introducing each participating startup's business model and team are available on the KITA website, and any interested investor can register to participate.
At the Medical, Bio, Healthcare Demo Day on the 15th, 10 startups pitched, including Olive Healthcare with its IoT technology for measuring biological tissues, GoQuba Technology which measures dementia risk through eye movement tracking, and Nyx with its sleep care system. About 60 investors from 40 companies, including Medici Investment and Big Bang Angels, sought investment opportunities. In particular, investors showed great interest in Luti Health's non-face-to-face AI diagnostic device for eye diseases and Little One's IoT-based infant products and healthcare platform.
Park Sun-kyung, head of KITA's Innovation Ecosystem Office, said, "This event is the first investment briefing (IR) hosted by KITA inviting the investment industry, planned to revitalize the startup ecosystem weakened by COVID-19 and support early-stage startups in attracting investment." She added, "We hope this demo day becomes a new opportunity for both startups and investors."

The Startup Overseas Expansion Voucher is a program led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to support startups with innovative technologies established less than seven years ago in their overseas expansion. Currently, about 310 companies have been selected and are utilizing over 1,500 support services tailored to their needs.
