All 24 Close Contact Teachers and Students of Daegu Middle School Student Confirmed with 'COVID-19' Test Negative

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] All close contacts of a third-year middle school student in Buk-gu, Daegu, confirmed as a COVID-19 case on the 12th, tested negative on the same day.
According to the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, health authorities conducted specimen tests on 24 individuals, including 15 students and 9 teachers who had close contact with the confirmed third-year middle school student. All results came back negative. Additionally, five family members of the student who underwent screening tests late the previous night also tested negative.
The student showed symptoms of fever and cough on the 11th and was tested at a public health center screening clinic, where the result was positive. The student did not attend school or attend any academies on the day symptoms appeared.

Meanwhile, as of midnight on the same day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Daegu increased by one to 6,889, with one additional death reported, bringing the total to 185. So far, 6,738 people (96.7%) have recovered, and 48 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals and residential treatment centers or are in self-quarantine.
