The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced on the 12th that Sergeant A, belonging to the Southern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency SWAT team, has been booked on charges of special assault.
According to the police, Sergeant A is accused of insulting Corporal B, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency SWAT team, and then striking Corporal B on the head with a bottle while drinking with about 10 police SWAT members from across the country at a sashimi restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, around 9 p.m. on the first day of the SWAT tactical training on the 3rd.
At the time, Corporal B received a medical diagnosis of two weeks of treatment and reported the assault to the local police substation in his residential jurisdiction.

The police stated, "We are investigating the specific reason for the assault," and added, "After completing the preliminary investigation at Gwanak Police Station, the case will be transferred to Sejong Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the suspect's address."
