Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Operates '119 Citizen Water Rescue Team'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 11th that it will operate the 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team for two months starting from the 1st of next month to prevent safety accidents in waterfront areas during the summer season.
The Gwangsan Fire Station 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team, composed of 60 waterfront safety personnel, will carry out water safety accident prevention activities and life-saving operations in case of accidents around Songsan Recreation Area and the Imgokgyo Bridge area until the end of August.
They also plan to conduct waterfront patrol activities on foot and by vehicle simultaneously.
The main activities of the 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team include ▲life-saving and safety measures to prevent drowning accidents in emergencies ▲management of control lines in dangerous areas ▲holding experiential fire safety education and promotional events.
