Ulsan's First Local Government Employee Written Exam of the Year Scheduled for the 13th
372 Applicants Sought, 6041 Apply, Average Competition Rate 16.2 to 1... 'Mask Test'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Ulsan City local government employee appointment written exam will be held on the 13th from 10 a.m. at 15 test centers in the city.
On the 11th, Ulsan City announced that it will conduct the '1st and 2nd Ulsan City Local Government Employee Appointment Written Exams' along with the postponed 1st research and guidance position appointment exam due to COVID-19.
A total of 6,041 applicants applied for this local government exam, which selects 372 candidates across 22 job categories, recording an average competition rate of 16.2 to 1.
For the administrative level 9 (including low-income and disabled categories), which accounts for the majority of the selected personnel, the number of selected candidates increased by 38 from last year to 122, while the number of applicants decreased by 202 to 2,495.
Although concerns have been raised about conducting the local government exam amid the recent spread of COVID-19 infections mainly in the metropolitan area, measures to prevent infections at the test sites have been prepared to strengthen quarantine efforts.
On the exam day, the main entrance of the test centers will be unified, and wearing masks individually will be mandatory. In particular, all examinees will undergo hand sanitization and temperature checks, which is expected to take some time for entry.
Before entering, quarantine measures such as maintaining a health distance of at least 1 meter between examinees will be implemented, and the test centers will be disinfected before and after the exam to block the inflow of infection sources.
Additionally, to minimize possible contact with infection sources, the capacity per test room will be reduced from 25-30 people last year to fewer than 20, and seats within the test rooms will be arranged with at least 1.5 meters of distance.
Due to these distancing measures, the number of schools designated as test centers increased by 5 compared to last year, and the number of test rooms also increased by 96, totaling 313 rooms.
The city plans to announce the written exam results on August 18, followed by interviews from August 31 to September 8, and will announce the final successful candidates on September 18.
