View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 10th, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized President Moon Jae-in as a "protocol president who reads speeches written by others," prompting former Blue House aides to rebut, saying he was "speaking as if baseless speculation were fact."
At the People's Party policy seminar "On the National Study Room" held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building that day, former professor Jin said of President Moon, "He just reads speeches written by others and performs events organized by Tak Hyun-min, giving the impression of a protocol president. It feels like he is created by his aides," adding, "There is not much to expect from the president. I also refrain from criticizing the president because it is meaningless."
He also compared President Moon with former President Roh Moo-hyun, saying, "Lately, I've been looking at former President Roh's speeches and feel that he really put a lot of thought into them, but I don't see that in President Moon."
He pointed out, "President Moon actually ran away without intending to engage in politics," and "If he were a president with a solid philosophy, he would have stopped the pro-Moon faction and the remnants from exploiting Roh Moo-hyun, but since it doesn't seem like he has the initiative, he couldn't become a variable."

In response to former professor Jin's criticism, former Blue House aides collectively rebutted.
Choi Woo-kyu, former Blue House speech planning secretary, said on Facebook that afternoon, "I don't know where or from whom he confirmed to speak so definitively, but it is a clear lie," adding, "I uploaded draft materials, then received the manuscript with your own pencil corrections or edits, sometimes feeling discouraged, other times reassured."
Yoon Young-chan, a member of the Democratic Party and former Blue House public communication chief, labeled Jin's claim as 'brain-fiction' (baseless thought). He said, "It is Jin Joong-kwon's freedom to imagine facts he hasn't seen, but when he speaks with certainty in front of others, it becomes brain-fiction," and criticized, "Please keep this in mind when criticizing and evaluating others."
Ha Seung-chang, former Blue House civil society chief, also wrote on Facebook, "It is not right to present speculation as fact," adding, "I don't know where he heard or saw that President Moon reads speeches written by others, but it is not true."
As criticism arose, former professor Jin issued a counter-rebuttal. On his Facebook that afternoon, he said, "It's childish. It seems they understood my words as meaning he parrots others' writings verbatim," adding, "I didn't mean he doesn't correct the manuscript, but that he originally lacks his own philosophy in speeches." He continued, "There is nothing to quote. Except for the 'my own philosophy' and 'seasoning' remarks, I don't remember anything."
He pointed out, "When you look at the speeches of former Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun, you can read traces of intense thought and a philosophy formed over a lifetime. They contain the spirit of the times," adding, "That is missing in President Moon's speeches."
