Kim Bu-gyeom Announces Run for Party Leader but Withdraws from Presidential Race
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Former Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Boo-kyum is reported to have expressed his decision to run for party leader ahead of the August party convention, along with his intention not to run in the next presidential election.
According to media reports on the 9th, Kim met with lawmaker Woo Won-shik, who is preparing to run for party leader, at a cafe in Yeouido in the morning and reportedly said, "If I become party leader, I will serve the full (2-year) term."
