Lotte Mall on the Rise... Wine Restaurants See 40% Increase in Delivery Orders in May
Lotte Mall Suji 'Purple Dog Wine Place'
Consumer Response Positive After Delivery Launch in March
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The wine specialty restaurant 'Purpledog Wine Place' at Lotte Mall Suji is gaining positive responses from consumers through its delivery service.
According to Lotte Asset Development on the 9th, the number of deliveries for Purpledog Wine Place in April and May increased by 124% and 40%, respectively, compared to the previous month. The representative menu items are 'Bomb Pane Pasta' and 'Iberico Pork Neck Steak,' with wine orders mainly ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 KRW products.
Purpledog Wine Place, which opened on the 4th floor of Lotte Mall Suji, is the only offline store of 'Purpledog,' a wine subscription service company. Since March, it has been providing delivery services in line with the non-face-to-face (untact) consumption trend caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, delivery service is available only within five neighborhoods in Suji-gu, Yongin City (Seongbok-dong, Pungdeokcheon-dong, Sanghyeon-dong, Sinbong-dong, Dongcheon-dong). Alcohol delivery is possible within a smaller range than food prices. Orders can be placed not only through delivery applications such as 'Baedal Minjok' and 'Yogiyo' but also via Naver Shopping and phone calls.
Park Jae-jung, founder and CEO of Purpledog, said, "Customers who tasted wine at Purpledog Wine Place in Lotte Mall Suji have shown interest in the subscription service, and existing online customers are visiting Lotte Mall Suji, creating a virtuous cycle between online and offline."
