Dongjak-gu, Construction Site Temporary Fence Design Contest
From the 8th, 'Construction Site Temporary Fence Design Contest'... Open to Anyone Aged 20 and Over... Choose and Submit One of Two Themes: 'Stories of Living in Dongjak' or 'Stories of People Living'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is holding a 'Construction Site Temporary Fence Design Contest' to redesign the temporary fences at construction sites in the city with residents' artworks.
The contest runs from June 8 to August 31, and any resident aged 20 or older can participate individually or in teams of up to three people. However, multiple team memberships are not allowed.
The contest theme requires choosing and submitting one of the following: 'Stories of Living in Dongjak,' representing the symbolism of Dongjak-gu, or 'Stories of People Living,' which brings joy to everyday life.
Contest forms, including ▲Entry Application and Work Description ▲Participation Pledge ▲Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Information, can be downloaded from the Dongjak-gu website and the Na Sonan-e Seoul website.
Submissions will be accepted online from September 1 to 11, and only works submitted by 5 p.m. on the deadline day will be considered valid.
The judging committee, composed of up to five related experts, will comprehensively evaluate the creativity, usability, and public nature of the designs to select the final winners.
The winning works will be announced on September 21 through the district website.
Prizes include one grand prize winner (cash prize of 5 million KRW) and a total of 11 winners (teams) who will receive certificates and a total of 15 million KRW in prize money. Winners will also be offered opportunities to participate in Dongjak-gu's public visual media design projects through agreements.
Starting in the second half of this year, the winning designs will be used to construct fences at construction sites adjacent to roads longer than 20 meters within the district.
