Pohang City Opens Village Lifelong Education Leader Training Course
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the 8th, Pohang City in Gyeongbuk held an opening ceremony for the 'Village Lifelong Education Leader Training Course' at the small auditorium of the Batmeori Lifelong Learning Center, targeting 80 students.
The participating students will receive a certificate of completion in the name of the mayor and will work as lifelong education leaders upon completing all 10 sessions totaling 30 hours by August 3. The instructors include lifelong education experts from across the country such as Kim Nam-seon, former director of the Gyeongbuk Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, Im Heon-woo, professor at Keimyung University, Jeong Eun-hee, professor at Gyeongnam University, and Yoon Young-nan, CEO of ES Talent Development Education Center.
Jang Sook-kyung, director of the Pohang Lifelong Learning Center, said in her greeting, "Village-level lifelong learning must be expanded in the future to create a sustainable lifelong learning city," and urged, "Please work together for the development of lifelong learning in our city through public-private cooperation."

Meanwhile, the Pohang Village Lifelong Education Leaders Association (President Kim Yong-jae) consists of 473 members. The association is engaged in activities to revitalize village-level lifelong learning through programs such as the 'Visiting Neighborhood Senior Citizens' University' and the operation of the 'Cheongnim University Happiness Learning Center.'
