President Moon: "New COVID-19 Cases in the Capital Area, Tension Again... We Will Overcome the Crisis"
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] President Moon Jae-in said on the 7th, "There is concern about the resurgence of COVID-19," adding, "Although the scale is significantly reduced compared to the peak, new confirmed cases are occurring here and there in the Seoul metropolitan area, so we are once again on alert." He then revealed gifts sent along with letters from grandmothers at a nursing home, saying, "If there are cautious hearts like those of the grandmothers at Hyupseong Nursing Home, we will be able to overcome this crisis sufficiently."
On the same day, President Moon wrote on his Facebook and other social network services (SNS) under the title "Sharing the Hearts of Grandmothers," expressing these thoughts. He also shared photos of lemon syrup, ginseng dorani, and ginger honey pickles sent by the grandmothers at Hyupseong Nursing Home.
President Moon expressed gratitude, saying, "(After receiving the gifts) I felt sorry for a long time," and added, "Is it really okay for us to receive this? We are still lacking in taking care of the health of our elders."
He then introduced the message written in the letter enclosed with the gifts. The letter contained the grandmothers' message: "Even when we think about what we can help with, it’s just washing hands well and wearing masks when going to the hospital! Still, wanting to help somehow, our grandmothers are sending tea they made themselves!"
