Prime Minister Jeong Orders 'Strengthened Vigilance Duty' Regarding Illegal Entry of Chinese Nationals in Taean
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun on the 4th ordered the strengthening of vigilance in relation to the recent case of illegal entry of Chinese nationals in the Taean area and the unidentified motorboat reported in the morning.
Recently, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), cases of illegal entry from China to the Taean area using small motorboats have been occurring consecutively.
Prime Minister Chung urged, "I ask the Minister of National Defense and the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard to mobilize all surveillance systems to strengthen maritime and coastal vigilance and to make every effort to prevent illegal entry in advance."

He also ordered, "Taking this incident as an opportunity, related ministries such as the Ministry of National Defense and the Korea Coast Guard should devise measures to strengthen prevention of illegal entry, including reinforcing CCTV."
