Junggu-dong, Gwangjin-gu Comprehensive Medical Complex Project Smoothly Progressing
Scheduled to Open in the First Half of 2021 and Move-in of Childcare Support Centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] The National Seoul Hospital in Junggok-dong, Seoul, is set to be newly constructed as a comprehensive medical complex.
Jeon Byeong-ju, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Education Committee (Democratic Party, Gwangjin 1), attended the progress report meeting for the comprehensive medical complex on the 1st and reviewed the current status of the Phase 2 Medical Administration Town project.
The site of the National Seoul Hospital near Junggok Station on Line 7 was designated with a detailed development plan confirmed and announced by the Seoul city decision notice in September 2012. The Phase 1 construction stage, the National Mental Health Center, was completed in 2016, and this time, a mid-term progress report meeting was held for the Phase 2 construction stage, the Medical Administration Town.
In particular, Councilor Jeon stated, “The 3rd floor will house a kids caf?, Kiwoom Center, open childcare room, and a comprehensive childcare support center. The 4th floor will include a children's performance hall, an informatization education center, and the Gwangjin-gu Village Autonomy Center. These facilities will not only serve as spaces where children can spend time but also include welfare facilities for local residents, which is expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for the community.”

Additionally, the Medical Administration Town, which will be built with 2 basement levels and 20 floors above ground, is scheduled for completion in February 2021. The expansion of Exit 1 of Junggok Station will improve accessibility to the medical complex, and a total of 391 parking spaces will be secured, allowing visitors to use the facilities more conveniently.
