Muan-gun Accelerates Development of Popular Restaurants to Revitalize Food Tourism
On-site Consulting for the Distribution of Award-Winning Dishes from Cooking Competitions
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 2nd that since the 26th of last month, it has been conducting customized on-site consulting for food service businesses to foster Muan’s famous restaurants.
The county received applications from 9 food service businesses that participated in the Muan Lotus Festival cooking competition and wished to receive consulting. After evaluation by professional consultants, 5 final businesses were selected.
The selected businesses will receive one-on-one on-site coaching from consultants led by Kim Tae-su, director of TBK Food Service Startup Strategy Research Institute, and Master Chef Gu Bon-gil, covering overall areas such as menu development, hygiene management, sales strategy, and customer service.
A Muan County official stated, “The winning dishes from the 13 Muan cooking competitions held so far have been distributed through local food service businesses, contributing to the promotion of consumption of Muan’s agricultural specialties such as onions, sweet potatoes, octopus, and Korean beef, and we will accelerate efforts to foster famous restaurants so that this can be connected to food tourism.”
