Wando-gun, 1st Supplementary Budget Increased by 89.3 Billion Won to Confirm 607.9 Billion Won
Reflection of Military Response in National Supplementary Budget for COVID-19 Emergency Disaster Relief
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando County, Jeonnam announced on the 2nd that at the 2nd plenary session of the 280th Wando County Council held on the 29th of last month, the first supplementary budget for this year was confirmed at 607.9 billion KRW, an increase of 17.23% compared to the original budget.
The first supplementary budget was funded by the 2019 fiscal year global surplus and additional national and provincial subsidies allocated after the original budget was prepared. The general account was set at 590.5 billion KRW, an increase of 87 billion KRW from the original budget of 503.5 billion KRW, and the special account was set at 17.3 billion KRW, an increase of 2.3 billion KRW.
The expenditure budget focused on expanding finances for legally mandated expenses such as national and provincial subsidy projects that were changed or newly confirmed after the original budget was finalized, COVID-19 emergency disaster relief funds, support expenses for the 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo, and revitalization of the local economy and stabilization of livelihoods.
Major projects include 14.7 billion KRW for COVID-19 related emergency disaster relief support, 14.5 billion KRW for the Saemangeum New Deal 300 project (6 locations), 2.4 billion KRW for temporary livelihood support for low-income households, 1.4 billion KRW for the construction of a waste purification and transport ship for islands, 2.2 billion KRW for Jeonnam-type COVID-19 emergency living expenses support, 1.3 billion KRW for the construction of a youth center, 800 million KRW for smart drone operation for disaster and disaster management, 2.3 billion KRW for small-scale resident inconvenience handling projects, 1 billion KRW for support in issuing Wando Love Gift Certificates related to COVID-19, 1 billion KRW for local fishing port repair and reinforcement projects, and 400 million KRW for interest subsidy on loans from financial institutions for small business owners affected by COVID-19.
