Korea GM sells 24,778 units in May, down 39.7% YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Korea GM announced that it sold a total of 24,778 units (5,993 domestic, 18,785 exports) in May. This represents a 13.8% decrease compared to the previous month (28,749 units) and a 39.7% decrease compared to the same period last year (41,060 units).
Korea GM disclosed this information on the 1st through the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system. Domestic sales decreased by 10.6% compared to the previous month (6,706 units). Compared to the same period last year (6,727 units), it decreased by 10.9%.
The Chevrolet Spark led the performance with total sales of 2,065 units, and the Chevrolet Malibu recorded its highest monthly sales this year with a total of 822 units sold. The Chevrolet Trailblazer recorded 956 domestic sales in May. Additionally, the Chevrolet Colorado saw a 21.3% increase from the previous month, with a total of 478 units sold.
Sales of RV models led by the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Equinox, and Traverse increased by 43.1% compared to the same month last year. Chevrolet imported models such as the Camaro SS, Bolt EV, Equinox, Traverse, and Colorado recorded monthly sales exceeding 1,000 units for eight consecutive months.
Exports decreased by 13.8% compared to the same period last year (22,043 units), and by 39.7% compared to the same period last year (41,060 units).
