LS Cable & System Develops Korea's First Customized 'Cable Recommendation App'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LS Cable & System announced on the 1st that it has developed Korea's first cable recommendation application, 'ConnectLS.'
ConnectLS recommends the most suitable cable when various conditions such as the number and length of cables, voltage, arrangement method, burial depth, and ambient temperature are selected. The types of cables used in transmission networks as well as various construction and industrial sites number in the hundreds.
Previously, finding the appropriate cable required a complex process of calculating the allowable current by considering multiple conditions while referring to cable specifications.
Since incorrect cable selection can lead to safety accidents such as electric leakage and fires, LS Cable & System expects this app to be useful in small construction sites without professional engineers.
LS Cable & System plans to utilize customer information collected through ConnectLS as big data to provide customized services. They also plan to enable cable purchases online.
The app consists of three types: ultra-high voltage (HV), medium/low voltage (MV/LV), and busduct, and is available for download by anyone on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
