45-Year-Old Woman from Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu Confirmed with COVID-19 After Returning from Mexico
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 31st, an additional COVID-19 case was confirmed in Gangnam-gu.
With this, the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu has increased to 75.
A 45-year-old woman living in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, had been staying in Mexico since March and returned to Korea on the early morning of the 30th via Korean Air flight KE012. Although she showed no symptoms, she tested positive in a specimen test conducted by the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center that morning.
After arrival, she had no movements outside her residence within the area.
According to health authorities, among recent community infections, 88.4% of cases are from the Seoul metropolitan area, and infections are reported to be highly likely in various multi-use facilities such as clubs, pubs, karaoke rooms, restaurants, and academies.

Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "The next two weeks will be a very important period to curb the spread of infections in the metropolitan area," and added, "We ask residents to participate in social distancing at multi-use facilities and to refrain from group gatherings or outdoor activities such as religious events as much as possible."
