Gwangju City Lifts Day-Based System for On-Site Registration of Emergency Disaster Relief Fund
From the 1st of next month... Proxy applications allowed for single-person households, spouses, and direct lineal ascendants and descendants
From the 4th, credit and debit card prepaid balances can be used in the new residential area
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 31st that it will lift the day-of-the-week system applied to on-site registration at the Dong Administrative Welfare Center for emergency disaster relief funds starting from the 1st of next month.
Accordingly, households wishing to receive emergency disaster relief funds via the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card can now visit the Dong Administrative Welfare Center at any time to apply for the emergency disaster relief funds, regardless of the last digit of the head of household's birth year.
The day-of-the-week system for bank counter registration of credit and debit card recharge funds was lifted on the 25th.
This measure was decided considering that as of the 29th, about 580,000 households, accounting for 95% of the total, had completed their applications for the emergency disaster relief funds, indicating that future demand for applications is not expected to be high.
Gwangju City plans to promptly complete the payment of relief funds to the remaining households as well.
In particular, for single-person households and others who find it difficult to visit in person, the scope of proxies for application and receipt will be expanded to include spouses and direct ascendants and descendants, not just members of the same household.
Also, to allow the use of emergency disaster relief funds in the relocated area, if a recipient who received the funds via credit or debit card has moved their resident registration address to another city or province after March 29, starting from the 4th of next month, they can apply to change the usage area of the funds through the card company's website or call center regardless of the number of times.
However, if the emergency disaster relief funds were received via the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card through the Dong Administrative Welfare Center, the usage area cannot be changed.
In this regard, the application for credit and debit card recharge emergency disaster relief funds will close on the 5th of next month.
Therefore, households wishing to receive the relief funds via credit or debit card recharge must apply online through the card company's website or visit a bank counter linked with the card company within the period.
