A Woman in Her 40s Confirmed with COVID-19 in Gunpo... Movement Path Under Investigation (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A woman in her 40s in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Gunpo City announced on the 30th that Ms. A (40, female), residing in Jaegung-dong, tested positive for COVID-19 and was transferred to Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital.
Ms. A showed suspected COVID-19 symptoms such as fever and muscle pain starting from the 29th, and underwent a specimen test at the screening clinic of Wonkwang University Hospital at around 5:30 PM on the same day. The test result came back positive the following morning. The route of infection has not yet been confirmed.
Gunpo City is investigating the woman's movement path and plans to conduct specimen tests at the screening clinic for six family members living with her, as well as disinfect her residence. The city stated, "We will disclose the presumed infection route and detailed movement path once the epidemiological investigation is completed."
