On the 29th, according to Jeonnam National University Hospital, Director Lee Sam-yong, along with key executives and organizations, have been donating all or part of their disaster relief funds, purchasing goods with these amounts, and visiting social welfare facilities to deliver warmth through a love-sharing campaign.
This donation movement is revitalizing the local economy, which has been struggling due to COVID-19, and is also energizing the spread of love-sharing for socially marginalized groups who have become economically more vulnerable.
In this love-sharing campaign, Director Lee donated 2 million won, including 1 million won from the disaster relief fund; Secretary General Kim Gap-sung (500,000 won), Head of Pharmacy Department Yoon Jae-kyung (1 million won), administrative department managers of the hospital (1.4 million won), Chairwoman of the female administrative staff group Donggeurami (500,000 won), and many employees voluntarily participated, including the nurse group ‘Baeg-uihoe’ (1.5 million won) and ‘Donggeuramihoe’ (500,000 won). The total amount collected was 7.5 million won.
The donated funds were used to purchase support items, which were directly delivered and encouraged at two locations: ‘Notre Dame Brothers’ House’ and ‘Mudeung Orphanage’.
Director Lee said, “Jeonnam National University Hospital, which is making every effort to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19, is also actively participating in helping socially marginalized groups whose economic conditions have worsened due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, faithfully fulfilling the role of a public medical institution.”
