Gwangju City to Revise 23 Local Ordinances This Year... Simplifying Terms Including Hanja
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 28th that it will comprehensively revise ordinances and regulations that include difficult Chinese characters, outdated Japanese terms, or expressions that citizens find inconvenient, unreasonable, or rarely use in daily life.
The revision targets 12 ordinances and 11 regulations. Among these, the ordinances are scheduled to be submitted to the first regular session of the city council held in June.
In particular, the revision carefully reviewed autonomous regulations primarily applicable to foreigners, such as the "Gwangju Metropolitan City Foreign Residents and Multicultural Families Support Ordinance."
