Contest for Reading Impressions of Nanjung Ilgi and Field Reports on Yi Chungmugong Historic Sites
The Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin Shrine Management Office of the Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 28th that it will hold a contest for reading reflections on the Nanjung Ilgi and travelogues of Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin’s historic sites from July 1 to August 31. This event has been held annually since 2013, when the Nanjung Ilgi (National Treasure No. 76) was registered as a UNESCO Memory of the World. It contributes to raising public awareness of General Yi Sun-sin’s patriotism and the preservation of historic sites.
The contest is divided into two categories: reading reflections on the Nanjung Ilgi and travelogues of Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin’s historic sites. Each category is further divided into elementary school, middle and high school, and general divisions (including university students). Entries can be submitted via email (yun39@korea.kr), and after expert review, the results will be announced on the Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin Shrine Management Office website in October.
