Samsung Electronics Donates 4.1 Billion KRW to Hoam Foundation
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it will donate 4.1 billion KRW to the Hoam Foundation as a social contribution fund.
The donated amount will be used for awarding the Hoam Prize recipients who have made significant contributions to academia, arts, and the promotion of human welfare, as well as for the operation expenses of the Hoam Foundation.

The Hoam Prize was established in 1990 by Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee to honor Hoam Lee Byung-chul's spirit of prioritizing talent and social public interest, recognizing individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in academia, arts, social development, and the promotion of human welfare. This year, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), a separate award ceremony will not be held.
