Jeongeup-si to Open Complex Playground Facility 'Cheonsa Heroes' at the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do is nearing the completion of the complex playground facility "Cheonsa Heroes," being developed around Naejangsan Culture Plaza.
According to Jeongeup City on the 27th, the total project cost of "Cheonsa Heroes" is 4.92 billion KRW, with a building area of 2,280㎡ (approximately 690 pyeong).
Unlike traditional playgrounds, it offers play facilities suitable for various age groups and has the advantage of being usable regardless of the four seasons' weather.
The facility features over 50 play equipment of 20 types, including tower climbing, screen baseball, and trampolines, designed with family users' perspectives in mind, centered on indoor complex play themes.
Play activity specialists and safety personnel are also assigned, and convenience spaces have been created for parents and citizens to rest.
The city plans to leverage this facility to establish a family-oriented experience and healing total tourism base linked with Naejangsan National Park, contributing to the revitalization of the tourism industry and local economy, and to develop this place as a dream tree experience tourism landmark.
In this regard, the city held an on-site briefing session inviting about 20 local journalists ahead of the opening of the "Cheonsa Heroes" complex playground facility.
The briefing started with an overview of the project by Choi Junyang, Director of Tourism, followed by a tour and hands-on experience of the facilities.
Director Choi said, "The purpose is to promote a joyful and free play culture for everyone regardless of age or gender, meeting the citizens' expectations who value a higher quality of life," adding, "Since the city has been ambitiously pushing this forward, we expect much interest and publicity from the media."
Mayor Yoo Jinseop stated, "Cheonsa Heroes is a unique and highly preferred tourism facility focused on children and youth in Korea," and added, "With the opening of this family-oriented facility in Jeongeup, where such facilities are relatively lacking, the city's prestige will be significantly enhanced."
Meanwhile, Cheonsa Heroes is a tourism facility developed around Naejangsan Culture Plaza using incentives secured by being selected as the best institution in 2018, as part of Jeollabuk-do's representative tourism site development project.
