[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon]On the 27th, Kwon Oh-gap, Chairman of Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings, visited the regular maintenance site of Hyundai Oilbank's Daesan Plant, an affiliate, and emphasized 'safety management.'
According to Hyundai Oilbank, Chairman Kwon visited the Daesan Plant that day to encourage the on-site workers who completed the regular maintenance without any disasters or accidents.
Chairman Kwon said, "Thank you for successfully completing the regular maintenance without accidents during a more difficult time than ever due to low oil prices and COVID-19," and urged, "Please make further efforts to continue the 'no-accident' record of the Daesan Plant, which has been ongoing since 2013."
He added, "While the company's efforts are most important in safety management, the will and determination of the on-site workers are also crucial," and said, "Let's do our best to realize safety management with labor and management united through stable labor-management relations."
Chairman Kwon apologized for the recent serious accident that occurred at Hyundai Heavy Industries on the 25th and has been emphasizing safety management throughout the group.
Hyundai Oilbank completed the regular maintenance that began in April and started full-scale test operations from that day.
The plant undergoing regular maintenance this time is the second plant, which refines 360,000 barrels of crude oil per day and is responsible for more than two-thirds of the company's total crude oil refining capacity (520,000 barrels per day).
