Investment Strategies After COVID-19 Seen by Analysts... Yuanta Securities Publishes 'Seulgiroun Ingan Saenghwal'
Untact Society, Changes in Social and Economic Infrastructure, and Industry and Market Transformations
In-depth Analysis of Each Sector and Presentation of 32 Leading Beneficiary Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Researchers at Yuanta Securities Research Center have compiled the social, economic, and industrial changes and investment strategies following the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) into a book.
Yuanta Securities announced on the 26th that it has published "Wise Human Life - Preparing for the Post-COVID World." The purpose is to predict global economic changes after the COVID-19 pandemic and provide proactive investment strategies to clients.
Eighteen industry and corporate analysis researchers from Yuanta Securities Research Center participated and forecasted future changes in three parts: ▲ Untact (contactless) society ▲ Social and economic infrastructure changes ▲ Industrial and market changes.
In the "Untact Society" section, it was expected that lifestyle changes due to social distancing would further deepen the expansion of online living. As the e-commerce, delivery commerce, home meal replacement (HMR), and over-the-top (OTT) video service consumption markets rapidly grow, the electronic payment market for these will also expand significantly, and non-face-to-face financial transactions are expected to increase greatly due to the prolonged untact lifestyle.
In the "Social and Economic Infrastructure Changes" section, a detailed analysis was provided on increased 5G investment and utilization to smoothly handle the surge in communication traffic, and the growth of cloud services supporting remote work and learning. Beneficiary companies were also identified due to increased demand for server semiconductors necessary for the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and 5G. Additionally, the book explained smart factories, which are expected to blossom fully after experiencing unprecedented global production stoppages.
In the "Industrial and Market Changes" section, in-depth analysis and forecasts were included on the electric vehicle and battery industries, which will see full-scale investment to expand global employment, and global public health investment triggered and accelerated by COVID-19. It also examined unmanned vehicles and changes in construction and residential environments, which are being re-evaluated due to prolonged social distancing. Steel companies, which will become stronger after restructuring, were also highlighted. The book concludes by listing 32 beneficiary companies that will lead these changes.

Park Ki-hyun, head of Yuanta Securities Research Center, advised, "Although many people are facing difficulties due to COVID-19, South Korea's status is actually rising, and economic indicators are expected to be better than those of the US or Europe. If we wisely overcome the current hardships, the post-COVID world will offer us a better future, and I hope this book will be helpful in that regard."
