[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 22nd, Seomyeon, Suncheon City (Chief Choi Young-hwa) announced that it had opened the ‘Mutual Learning School’ for marriage immigrant women in collaboration with the Saemaul Women's Association as part of the rural multicultural family exchange project ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’.
The ‘Mutual Learning School’ for marriage immigrant women is a project that connects marriage immigrant women residing in Seomyeon with members of the Saemaul Women's Association to help resolve difficulties experienced in Korean life and support maintaining a healthy and happy married life.
The ‘Mutual Learning School’ consists of 10 teams of marriage immigrant women and offers various programs to help adapt to Korean life, such as listening to each other’s stories twice a month, making native dishes together, tea ceremony experiences, and food markets.
Park Eun-sook, president of the Seomyeon Saemaul Women's Association, said, “I hope this helps the lives of the women who took time out of their busy work schedules to participate in the learning school,” and added, “The Women's Association will do its best to make this an opportunity for mutual comfort and problem-solving in living abroad.”
