President Moon's Approval Rating at 62.3%... 5 Consecutive Weeks in the 60% Range [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration showed a slight upward trend, maintaining the 60% range for five consecutive weeks.
According to Realmeter's announcement on the 25th, based on a public opinion survey conducted from the 18th to the 22nd commissioned by YTN, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration rose by 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous week's aggregate, reaching 62.3%. Negative evaluations decreased by 0.5 percentage points to 32.6%.
This marks the first time since the third week of September 2018 that President Moon's approval rating has stayed in the 60% range for five consecutive weeks. The gap between positive and negative evaluations is 29.7 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error. Positive evaluations have been ahead of negative evaluations beyond the margin of error for nine consecutive weeks.
By generation, the increase in positive evaluations was most significant among those aged 70 and above, rising from 55.2% last week to 59.7%. Regionally, positive evaluations in the Gwangju and Jeolla areas increased by 4.2 percentage points (from 81.3% to 85.5%). By occupation, the unemployed showed a significant rise of 9.2 percentage points (from 52.0% to 61.2%), and office workers also saw an increase of 3.8 percentage points (from 66.1% to 69.9%).
Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea fell by 2.4 percentage points to 42.5%, and the United Future Party also dropped by 2.4 percentage points to 24.8%, both experiencing simultaneous declines. Notably, the United Future Party recorded its lowest rating since its founding.
The Open Democratic Party rose by 0.9 percentage points to 6.2%, and the Justice Party increased by 0.9 percentage points to 6.0%. Following them were the People’s Party at 3.8% and the Minsheng Party at 2.4%.

This survey contacted 56,842 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final response of 2,514 people, resulting in a response rate of 4.4%.
