Among 225 Confirmed Cases from Itaewon Clubs, 129 Infected through Contact (Summary)

On the 24th, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of noon that day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases related to Itaewon clubs in South Korea reached 225. This is an increase of 6 from 219 cases at noon the previous day.
Regarding the infection routes, among the confirmed cases, 96 were club visitors, and 129 were infected after contact with confirmed cases such as family members, acquaintances, or coworkers.
Compared to the previous day, the number of new confirmed cases who visited clubs increased by 1, but infections through contact increased by 5, indicating that secondary infections are ongoing.
The previous day saw the emergence of two fifth-generation infection cases 17 days after the first confirmed case on the 6th. Both cases were related to an academy instructor in Incheon who concealed their visit to Itaewon clubs, spreading the virus through karaoke rooms and first birthday parties.

Breaking down the total 225 confirmed cases by region, Seoul had the highest number with 106 cases, followed by Gyeonggi with 58, Incheon with 40, Chungbuk with 9, and Busan with 4.
