[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Park Neung-hoo, the first deputy head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Minister of Health and Welfare), announced that starting next week, in preparation for the return to school of high school sophomores and below, "we will further strengthen the emergency response system already in operation with local governments, education offices, and the Fire Agency."
On the 22nd, Deputy Head Park stated during the opening remarks at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting held at the Government Seoul Office, "Through inter-agency cooperation, we will urgently transport suspected patients immediately upon occurrence of any situation and conduct rapid testing to block the chain of infection between schools and local communities."
Deputy Head Park also expressed gratitude to all involved, including students, parents, teachers, and school staff, regarding the return of high school seniors. He said, "It must not have been easy for the high school seniors who returned to school this week to keep distance from their friends and wear masks," adding, "I thank the students and parents who adhered well to daily quarantine rules, as well as the teachers, school staff, and frontline officials from education offices and the Fire Agency who worked hard to ensure safety."
