Gwangju Seo-gu Supports Youth Hiring Companies with '80% Wage Subsidy'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) will support 80% of labor costs for youth hiring companies.
Seo-gu announced on the 21st that it will additionally recruit companies for the ‘Confident Jobs, Grab My Job!’ project in response to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
The region-led youth employment project ‘Confident Jobs, Grab My Job!’ supports 80% of labor costs for companies that hire youth to expand youth employment and support regional settlement.
Seo-gu selected this year’s project support targets in January, but due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, it decided to additionally select support targets to help alleviate companies’ financial difficulties and create jobs for local youth.
Companies that apply for participation will be preliminarily selected through qualification screening, and workplaces that complete hiring youth as regular employees by the deadline will be finally selected.
Selected companies will receive 80% of labor costs (up to 1.6 million KRW per month) monthly starting from July, and for participating companies meeting certain conditions, project support will continue for up to two years.
Youth hiring companies wishing to participate can refer to the announcement posted on the Seo-gu Office website (Notices) and submit the application form and required documents to the Seo-gu Office Job Policy Division by the 26th.
